About 98 percent of Yellowstone Park's visitors use the internet to plan their travel routes.*

Many people don't have any idea where Yellowstone National Park is located. Most of Yellowstone lies in the state of Wyoming, with portions in Montana and Idaho. There are five entrances to the park, three of which enter through Montana and two of which enter through Wyoming. But these are not well-known facts for people who do not live in the Yellowstone region.

A Yellowstone vacation is a road trip. You cannot fly into and out of Old Faithful. Even for people who fly into a major airport and rent a car to start their Yellowstone vacation, a Yellowstone trip will take visitors through one or more states surrounding the Park.

For all of the above reasons, we have developed 10 Interactive Yellowstone Maps & Itineraries for people who are planning a trip to Yellowstone.

The 10 color-coded, interactive itineraries begin 1-2 days from Yellowstone Park. There is a route for people traveling to Yellowstone from all directions and regions. Visitors to YellowstonePark.com can interactively mouse-over and explore each of the routes. During interactivity, information displays for particular towns along each route, which serves to influence visitors' itinerary and travel route decisions.

Also included in our Maps & Itineraries are "Lodging Locator" layers for each of the 10 itineraries. Once a person determines they'll be vacationing to Yellowstone, "how will we get there?" is the first question they ask. Hotels and lodging companies purchase links and sponsorships on our Maps to connect with these visitors during their trip-planning stages.

Furthermore, "Maps & Scenic Drives" is the most-requested type of information for people planning a Yellowstone vacation, according to our extensive customer surveys at YellowstonePark.com.

The Maps & Itineraries also include a mileage chart that covers the entire greater Yellowstone
