YellowstonePark.com is a site for people considering or planning a Yellowstone vacation - or who are fans of the world's first national park.
YellowstonePark.com serves two audiences, what we call the "decideds" and the "undecideds." "The former are those people who have already chosen Yellowstone as a vacation destination. For these folks, YellowstonePark.com provides a total trip-planning resource from which to plan their entire Yellowstone vacation. The undecideds, on the other hand, have not yet decided between Yellowstone, Grand Canyon or Disneyland. YellowstonePark.com aims to inspire and persuade the undecideds to choose Yellowstone for a vacation destination.
A Yellowstone vacation is a road trip that spans more than just the park. You cannot fly into and out of Old Faithful. Even for fly/drivers, a Yellowstone vacation is a drive vacation that includes some or all of the states surrounding the park. The company markets the regions and attractions throughout Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Utah as further incentives to choose Yellowstone for a vacation destination.
YellowstonePark.com was founded in 1995. In 1996, the site was named a "Yahoo Site of the Week," which at the time was an astonishing accomplishment for our small Wyoming company.
In 2005, YellowstonePark.com again won honors when it was voted "Best Tourism Site in the World" by the prestigious Webby Awards People's Voice. (The Webbys are known as the "Oscars of the Internet.")
Recently, on Dec. 29, 2006, we launched a completely redesigned YellowstonePark.com.
YellowstonePark.com annually enjoys 40 million hits, 5 million page views and 2.5 million visits.
Despite the fact that our old site won a Webby in 2005, our new site is light years ahead and several times better than the old one. How is this possible? Due to technology advances during just the past 18 months.
We are a team of many and we are as almost as passionate about technology as we are about promoting tourism to the Yellowstone region.
The new technology and landscape of Web 2.0 is exciting. It's all about the customer, collaboration, content and user experience. In today's times it's not enough for companies to keep up or even to adapt. Businesses who embrace technology and the new economy will be the last ones standing.
